Meet Our Team

SARA SCHMITT, LMT, RYT

Sara graduated Lexington Healing Arts Academy in 2019. Her love for nature and massage has drawn her to the concept of Natural Destination Massage where clients can experience the magic touch of her massage in the comfort of mother nature’s room.

Sara offers a variety of modalities including Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Stretch, Movement, Reflexology, Vedic Thai Yoga Massage, Massage Cupping, Energy and Chakra work.

Sara is a 200 hr. Register Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200), offering private yoga classes along with group classes at Wildfire Yoga, LEF Climbing and West Sixth Brewing.

In 2021, Sara joined the Massage Coaching and Practical staff at Lexington Healing Arts Academy, mentoring and instructing students. In 2023 she joined the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training staff at Wildfire Yoga, assisting with Alignment and Hands-On Assists. She is the co-founder of SUP Yogis, providing students with the adventure and challenge of Stand Up Paddleboad yoga.

She is an avid outdoor adventurer who is passionate about the beauty and balance that our natural earth and the human body have in common. Sharing the practice of yoga with others fills her soul. She loves to watch students as they discover and develop a connection with their practice.

A self-proclaimed “anatomy geek”, Sara loves teaching interested minds about the structure and kinesiology of our bodies. Spending decades in a transient lifestyle living all across the U.S.A., she has learned adaptability is a strength that carries over into teaching yoga. Using props and an open mind, she sets out to facilitate a safe environment for each student. Sara strives to bring an element of humility, self-discovery, anatomy education, challenge and humor to each yoga experience.

Outside of the studio, you can find Sara rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking and exploring with her husband, Josh, their son, friends, and rescue pup. She loves to explore far-away places and close to home spaces.

Sara is licensed and insured in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), Yoga Alliance and the Vedic Conservatory.

JOSH STITZER, RYT

Josh, a 200 hr. Registered Yoga Teacher, focuses on the grounding nature of yoga as not only a physical exercise, but a mental meditative exercise as well.  Being physically active growing up, he eventually wore down his body and mind after years of sports involvement.

Following a decade of exercise complacency, he discovered the power of yoga while simply practicing on his own with guidance from online teachers.  Yoga became a wakeup call for Josh on both a physical and mental perspective.  He learned that with even a short daily practice, his body felt much more relaxed and pain free. The beautiful gift of Shavasana at the end of each practice was the “icing on the cake” for grounding.  It was, actually, Shavasana, that meditatively helped to guide his future for the next several years.

After meeting his wife-to-be, Sara, who shared her love of hiking, paddle boarding, and even rock climbing, Josh quickly realized how important a yoga practice with proper guidance was to this new active lifestyle!  So, she introduced him to the concept of practicing yoga at a studio with hands on guidance from instructors.

He discovered his desire to share this yoga guiding experience with the community only after completing his formal training alongside his wonderful wife, Sara.  Together, they shared the experience and are happy to give back to the community their love of the many facets of yoga.  Josh’s primary focus is on Slow Flow, and his personal favorite, Restorative yoga.

Josh teaches Somatic Yoga and offers private yoga classes along with group classes at LEF Climbing.

Josh is a member of Yoga Alliance.
